Could not
find a satisfactory biography in the person of "W.W.Taxis" in this little known phase of Philadelphia history that
bridges the horse and carriage era and the age of the modern motor car. For a thin slice of history, cyclists and
cycling clubs were the cutting edge technology of its day of pitting human
endurance against new highly engineered cycling machinery. This age including many racing clubs on the east
coast in cities had local heroes like W.W.Taxis who went from cycles into cars
and car racing in terms of a few clippings researched and shown here.
