Phenix Cheese Company 1903-1920, successor to Empire Cheese Company Edmeston NY, factory burned down 1900, thus the name Phenix, an alternate spelling at the time. Holder of rights to produce originator's "Philadelphia" brand cream cheese. Phenix merged with Kraft in 1920.
