Joshua Evans, Livery Stable. Nos. 1513, 1515, and 1517 Race Street

Joshua Evans, Livery Stable. Nos. 1513, 1515, and 1517 Race Street—Mr. Evans' establishment is Race Street above Fifteenth, occupying the space of three building lots, or 94x150 feet. The stable is well built and nicely equipped and is strictly first-class in every respect. Seventy-eight horses are always kept on hand, besides a full line of flint-class carriages, coupes, phaetons, side-bar wagons, etc. Charges are most reasonable, and no effort is spared to give satisfaction. Fifteen men are constantly employed in the various departments, and a good business is done. Mr. Evans is a native of Philadelphia. and is about thirty-five years of age. He established these stables in 1867, and has always endeavored to keep them to the highest grade of their class, an endeavor in which he has amply succeeded.
