Bio Sketch of "Dave Mellow" Frankford Yellow Jackets Program - 1926

"Dave" Mellow, F.A.A.
Director and Former Star
FORMER HALFBACK GOING STRONG AS DIRECTOR

Dave Mellow is serving his second year as a member of the Board. He is one of the old guards inasmuch as he was a member of the Yellow Jackets form 1912 to 1923. He missed being on the 1899 squad. Dave started as a lineman, but was later converted into a halfback. He was able to take plenty of punishment and held his own with the best of them. Last year Mellow was a member of the Managing Committee and this year his advise is sought many times when the question of plays and players arises. Dave's working line is coal, he being connected with the old established firm of William B. Horrocks and Company.

Mike is the son of Hap Moran btw.

Many thanks for sending this in response to this Philly and Stuff blog article.

An article related is an artifact of history from that 1926 NFL season and "D. E. Mellow" 's Championship Award for services rendered to the team.
