I sat a kitchen table very similar to this one for close to a quarter century when I lived in Philly.
Indestructible and Made in America.
Predominate colors in this product line were I believe red, yellow and a light gray.
The was seemingly indestructible, vulnerable of course to a hot pot bottom direct from the stove.
My dad every two or so years would reupholster the chairs using oil cloth in yellow color, and a similar pattern as the table top. A popular design in oil cloth which tells me that my dad was not the only head of house saving a buck and reupholstering and fixing things in a house when many things in a house were fixable by the owner.
They used to sell this thick plastic product in hardware stores back when like Joseph's at 4444 Frankford Avenue which was also an all purpose five & dime like variety store with household products, detergents, pens, stationary, buttons, thread, cheap little toys etc.
He used brass thumb tacks on the tops of the chairs, the tacks holding down a plastic border and carpet tacks in the seats underneath to secure the material to a wooden seat frame, bottom and back. The thing is that the chairs had wood in them and could be reupholstered by the practical and thrifty owner of said kitchen chairs and table.
