James Galbraith - Northern Liberties - 526 New Market Street - Aged 67 - Inquirer 16 May 1866

GALBRAITH.- On the 12th Instant, JAMES GALBRAITH, in the 67th year of his age.

The relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, from his late residence, No. 526 New Market street, this (Wednesday) morning, at 10 o'clock, without further notice. Interment at South Laurel Hill Cemetery.

James Galbraith, an esteemed citizen, died this morning, at 4 o'clock, in his 67th year. Mr Galbraith was well and favorable known in the city of Philadelphia. In the old district of the Northern Liberties he was identified with every improvement looking to its promotion, and since consolidation his residence was in the Eleventh Ward, wherein it may be said that his amiable disposition, his kind and genial manner and his liberality in the bestowment of means to support the needy, he was greatly endeared to every man, woman and child. As a husband, as a brother, and as a father, he was most kind and devoted. For many years he was active in politics; although not holding office, he was perhaps as well known as any other politician of our city.
